Scarlet Letter Help PLEASE issues of the characters?

Hester and Dimmesdale are faced with the issue of their affair, but in different ways. The public knows of Hester's sin and she must deal with outward shame, while Dimmesdale's sin is a secret and he must deal with internal shame that weakens him mentally and physically. Chillingworth becomes overcome by vengeance and when Dimmesdale escapes him and he loses his revenge, he can not even continue to exist. Pearl is in a way cursed to be a demon child because she is the result of sin, but in the end when Dimmesdale confesses "the spell is broken" and she is free to grow up and live a normal life.
