How to eradicate Hobo Spiders? I have a rather large infestation outside my house (sometimes inside).?

I live in rural Montana, and I have never had the spiders infest so bad. I dont mind a few, but there are probably hundreds. I do not want to call the Orkin guy, b/c i dont want to get rid of the "good bugs". I have heard of sticky traps, but are they effective outdoors??
