Can my landlord take the doors off and throw away my things?

I owed my landlord one months rent. He allowed me to live out my security deposit. Then I went on the first to move out my things and everything was thrown away. I live in Chicago Illinois. I called the police and the made a police report for a burglary. Everything I owned was gone what can I do about this?
