Why is my VIN sticker missing?

Is the # on the drivers side dash match your Vin #. U should of been told the car was in an accident when U purchased it. Car Fax is only as good as the company that registered it. If it was not threw a insurance company or dealer it wouldn't show up.This is almost 2011 quite a long time since U purchased it.
