My air conditioning stops cooling occasionally.?

It is thermostatically controlled. Which means the thermostat sensed it was cool enough, that is why it stopped making it cooler. If it is not automatically restarting as the car is heating up again inside, then the thermostat control sounds like it is going "bye- bye"
