How was athena born ? who are her mother and father.?

Athena's father was Zeus and her mother was Metis. When Zeus was told a prophecy saying that if Metis's child was a male, Zeus would be overthrown, he turned Metis into a fly and ate her. Nine months later, Athena broke out of his head.
